FAQs

Currently, users cannot utilize the Gripper or Modules when using Quick Transfer. Your protocol must be written using Protocol Designer or the Opentrons Python API for more complicated workflows that involve Modules. Module support is planned for a future software release.

Currently, users can control 3 deck slots to facilitate simple transfer and aliquoting protocols. There are plans to expand this in a future software release.

Quick transfer is a new software feature that allows you to quickly and easily create simple pipetting protocols on the Opentrons Flex touchscreen. This allows users to control the robot without programming or coding expertise.

The Flex prep is primarily used to assist with routine pipetting task such as sample and reagent aliquoting, plate stamping/reformatting, normalizations, and dilutions. However, you can scale up to more complicated workflows such as bead clean ups with the addition of Modules and the Opentrons Flex Gripper.
